Chess set, edition of 1, 45 x 45 x 12 cm, 2013
Arguments that may have been used during the notorious dispute between Huxley and Wilberforce on Darwin’s evolution of species theory are reproduced separately on the white and black cases of a chess board. The chess pieces bear on their bottom a recessed mirror that allows the player to read the quotes as they progress in their game.

The text from T. Pynchon The Crying of Lot 49 novel is laid out on the pages of this edition sideway. Every individual section of the book is bound using two different color threads. The black thread is then used to underline certain words, which when read one after the other form a intelligible message to the reader, an alternative narration to the one existing in the text.

The performer reads selected dreams passages from several novels written by Vladimir Nabokov using a library wheel, a machine invented by Agostino Ramelli in the 14th century. The system of the wheel embodies the reading process as a trigger for digressive thinking, fortuitous combinations and slips. The grotesque apparatus functions as the instrument for associative thinking, an oneiric tool to help the narrator meander through different visions.

‘Naufrage’ reproduces Stéphane Mallarmé’s poem ‘Un Coup de Dé Jamais N’abolira le Hasard’ (A throw of the dice will never abolish chance, 1914). In this puzzle like grid of type, the verses are dissimulated, engulfed by the rows of characters, emerging only momentarily when the ‘text’ is scrutinised.

A series of five billboard posters showing advertising messages is glued in a row. When the different parts of the poster layer on top of each other, new words appear.

French fold edition of ‘Impressions of Africa’ by R. Roussel where the pages are cut open apart from the last 10 pages. Another text is hidden inside: How did I write some of my books from the same author.

An advertising truck bearing a mirrored quote from H. W. Longfellow is driven through the City in London, an area known for its large-scale modern architecture. The text becomes readable when the glass fasciae of the surrounding buildings reflect it as the truck passes. The imposing static edifices become the momentary recipient of the verse.

This book reproduces some chosen poems from Charles Baudelaire with a system of cut out windows with rotating discs that replaces passages of the text with related commentaries from various authors

HD video, 11 min loop, 2008
This video shows the repeated action of a magician taking a rabbit out of his hat. However the loop is a false one as the rabbits are different from one scene to the other.

Mixed media installation using liquid crystal glass, 175 X 50 X 50 cm, 2007
On this pedestal, the transparent glass case is frosted so that the exhibited work is concealed. Once every two minutes, the glass becomes transparent for one second only. In the archive footage of the showcase one can see ‘Drain’ by R.Gober, 1975, and ‘Olive oil bottle’ by J.Beuys 1984 .
